Only a couple of days after the first big release of the viral websites, the Elysium trailer was released yesterday and it is full of Image Engine’s VFX work.
It’s good to have had a few months’ break between working on the project and seeing the trailer. When you spend so long working on something, it is sometimes hard to look at the results and not just see flaws. Seeing the work with fresh eyes has made me really excited for the movie and proud of our work.
Watching the trailer, I had almost given up hope of seeing any of my work in it, until my first shot popped up at 1:31. I composited the two shots of Matt Damon ripping the head off a droid and also did the shot of people lining up in front of a shuttle at 1:47.
I just watched this trailer earlier today. Looks insane! Awesome work!
