I don’t normally get that excited about the Oscars but I was very excited this afternoon after we heard that Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 has made it through to the final five nominations for this years Visual Effects Oscar.
Although there were quite a few post houses who worked on the movie Framestore’s VFX Supervisor Christian Manz is one of the four names that has been put forward for the award. This means that if Potter win’s the award Framestore would have a second Oscar statue to join the one they won for their work on The Golden Compass.
There is some stiff competition in the category. The other four nominated movies are: Inception, Alice In Wonderland, Hereafter and Iron Man 2. For all of the other nominations in other categories check out: http://oscar.go.com/
This is the first time that I’m actually looking forward to Oscar night. I might even stay up to watch. I’m very proud of the part I played in the project.
